S&A Home Improvement has been a family operation since 2004. What started as a painting company grew naturally into something more — because homeowners who trusted us with their walls kept calling us back for their decks, their bathrooms, their crawlspaces, and everything in between.

We're not a big box contractor. We're a crew you know, doing work you can see and touch. That's how we've lasted over two decades serving Mecklenburg and surrounding counties — and we handle both residential and commercial jobs.

  • Painting is our specialty. It's how most of our clients find us — and how we earn their trust from day one.

Yes — estimates are always free. Fill out the form on our Get Estimate page and we'll follow up within 24 hours to set up a time. You're also welcome to give us a call directly to schedule one.
What areas do you serve? ⌄

Do you work on commercial properties? ⌄
Yes, we take on commercial jobs in addition to residential work. If you have a commercial project in mind, include the details in your estimate request and we'll go from there.
How long has S&A been in business? ⌄
We've been operating since 2004 — over 21 years. We started as a specialized painting company and have grown to offer a range of home improvement services based on what our clients kept asking us for. We’re not a general contractor — think of us as a trusted, experienced crew that specializes in painting and has built up the skills to handle a variety of home projects alongside it.
What types of painting do you do? ⌄
We handle both interior and exterior painting — walls, ceilings, trim, cabinetry, and full home exteriors. Painting is our specialty and where most of our clients start with us.
Do you handle multiple services in one project? ⌄
Absolutely. A lot of our clients combine services — for example, painting alongside drywall repair, or powerwashing before an exterior paint job. Just let us know what you're working with.
Do I need to move my furniture before you start? ⌄
Not at all — you don't need to clear the room yourself. We do recommend setting aside any sensitive or fragile items you'd rather keep safe, just as a precaution; we're fully insured, but no one wants an accident regardless. For everything else, we'll group the furniture toward the center of the room so we have clear access to the walls. All furniture and items remaining in the work area will be covered with painters plastic throughout the job.
